The Longseat In Situ Sling has a rectangular shape, without leg flaps. The sling runs completely under the seat of the patient and is free of darts. The lower section of the sling features a wide padding, which prevents the sling from cutting into the back of the knees and increases comfort at the legs. This makes the sling suitable for patients for whom leg flaps are painful, with leg amputation or contractures.
The head support has no stiffeners, making it suitable for patients where the use of stiffeners is not desired or possible. The sling is made of soft and comfortable bamboo fabric in the colour black. Due to the model of the head support, the sling is only suitable for patients with sufficient head balance.
The Longseat In Situ Sling is free of darts at the seat, shoulders and head. This makes the sling ideal for use with complex orthotic wheelchairs, where seams at the shoulder can cause pressure points. The higher placement of the shoulder loops offer more space at the head. The elastic piping at elbow height gives shape to the sling.
The sling can only be applied or removed in a lying position. Do not cross the loops of a Longseat In Situ Sling, in order to maintain sufficient space at the legs as well. The Longseat In Situ Sling is suitable for use with a passive hoist.
Bamboo is a soft and breathable fabric with quick-drying and thermo-regulating properties. This makes a sling made of bamboo feel soft and comfortable on the skin. The bamboo material stretches because the material is mixed with a strong and recycled polyester stretch yarn. As a result, the sling moulds closely around the body and stretches with it during transfers.
The bamboo fabric does not stick to the skin when it gets hot and provides cooling. A sling made of bamboo is a good option, especially for patients who perspire a lot. The material absorbs moisture and perspiration faster, leading to less softening of the skin.
The Longseat In Situ Sling is also available in the materials: bamboo jeans and polyester net. The bamboo material is soft, feels comfortable and is suitable for general use. Polyester net is a black mesh fabric for use in bath. The choice of material depends on the patient's needs and the application of the sling.
