VIP In Situ Sling with additional fixation supports the patient's entire body while making the transfer. The sling runs under the seat, so the piping and darts of the sling are not under the seat. As a result, the In Situ Sling can remain in the chair after the transfer. This makes the transfer less stressful for both patients and caregivers.
The sling is made of spacer fabric and equipped with extra fixation options for highly mobile clients. The abdominal fixation, headrest straps and leg straps ensure that the client cannot come forward in relation to the sling and can spread the legs less, pull up and/or stretch. The spacer fabric has a pressure distributing and ventilating effect. The sling is therefore suitable for clients who are highly mobile or sensitive to spasms.
The VIP In Situ Sling with additional fixation fits tightly around the patient's body and ensures a relaxed posture. The sling has a large number of darts. The resulting bucket shape brings the patient into a good sitting position. This makes positioning in the (wheel)chair easier and ensures that the sling remains securely in place in the (wheel)chair. The active headrest with stiffeners gives shape and strength to the sling and therefore offers more support. The headrest straps allow you to adjust the angle of the headrest as desired.
The darts form a small gap between the leg flaps, which increases safety and gives a comfortable feeling. The padded leg flaps of the sling prevent pinching. The sling can only be applied and removed in a lying position and is safe to use in case of lower and upper leg amputations. The VIP In Situ Sling with additional fixation is suitable for use in combination with a passive hoist.
Spacer fabric
Spacer fabric is a 3D material with pressure-distributing, moisture-permeable and breathable properties. The unique way of weaving creates space in the material. This has the advantage that the fabric can absorb moisture and wick it away quickly, creating a cooling effect on the skin. Spacer knit is made of polyester and is therefore strong and durable. The thickness of the material ensures that it stretches less and moves less with the patient when, for example, there is a spasm.
